PRP / PRF
PRP
& PRF
Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) is a treatment that uses a concentrated form of a patient's own platelets derived from their blood. PRP contains growth factors that stimulate tissue regeneration and healing. Platelet-Rich Fibrin (PRF) is a second-generation platelet concentrate that contains platelets, fibrin, and white blood cells in a dense fibrin matrix. Unlike PRP, PRF releases growth factors more slowly and over a longer period, providing extended stimulation for tissue regeneration.
At Aesthetics by Dr. Claire, our PRP & PRF treatments are customised to you and your skin concerns. We may recommend combining this treatment with other modalities.

What is Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP)? Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) is a treatment that uses a concentrated form of a patient's own platelets derived from their blood. PRP contains growth factors that stimulate tissue regeneration and healing. It is widely used in dermatology and orthopedics for its rejuvenating and healing properties.
Benefits of PRP:
Stimulates collagen production
Enhances skin texture and tone
Reduces fine lines and wrinkles
Improves overall skin radiance
Accelerates wound healing
Can promote hair growth in cases of hair thinning
Areas for PRP:
Face (commonly known as the "vampire facial")
Neck
Décolletage
Scalp (for hair restoration)
Hands
Risks and Complications of PRP:
Mild swelling, redness, or bruising at the injection sites
Temporary discomfort or itching
Rare risk of infection
Minimal risk of allergic reaction since it uses the patient’s own blood
Pre and Post Care for PRP:
Pre-Care:
Avoid blood-thinning medications (aspirin, ibuprofen) and supplements (fish oil, vitamin E) a week before treatment.
Avoid alcohol and smoking for at least 24 hours before the procedure.
Stay hydrated.
Post-Care:
Avoid touching or rubbing the treated area for 24 hours.
Use a cold compress to reduce swelling if needed.
Avoid intense physical activities, saunas, and direct sun exposure for at least a week.
Use gentle skincare products and avoid harsh treatments (e.g., peels, scrubs) for a few days.
Follow any specific post-treatment skincare regimen recommended by your provider.
